The Department of State Services (DSS) has arrested 22 suspects over offences bordering on alleged terrorism, kidnapping, murder and banditry, New Telegraph reports.
Voice of Ndigbo gathered that DSS, in a statement by Tony Opuiyo on Friday, July 7, disclosed that some of the suspects were arrested in Kano, Abia, Rivers, Imo, Kaduna and Zamfara states.
Opuiyo said: “In consolidating its recent successes in thwarting terrorists’ attacks, kidnapping operations and banditry in different parts of the country, the Department of State Services (DSS) has recorded more feats in degrading capacities of these criminals.
“The public must note that the Service remains unrelenting in its efforts to deal with any group or band of criminals/unscrupulous elements who may threaten public safety or engage in activities that can undermine the ability of law abiding citizens and residents to pursue their legitimate businesses.
“To this effect, the Service will continue to partner with relevant stakeholders to ensure that law and order are maintained.”
It was previously reported that the Department of State Services (DSS) allegedly has plans to shut down opposition against the present administration on social media.
DSS has sent a delegation to Russia to learn how to shut down social media and target users over President Muhammadu Buhari’s health.
