Governor Willie Obiano of Anambra state has allegedly erected a cenotaph with names of Biafran heroes.
In some photos circulating online, the governor could be seen laying some flowers at the foot of the cenotaph.
The governor was alleged to have erected a Transparent Wall of Honor at the Cenotaph in Alex Ekwueme Square containing the names of all heroes past in remembrance of late Biafran heroes.
The governor was said to have insisted that it is important to remember the Biafran heroes for their bravery.
Obiano said: “Without memory, life assumes the attributes of a futile gaze into the void of time….Let’s Celebrate the bravery of these great spirits who lost their lives yesterday that we may find peace today.”
Meanwhile, following the success of the sit-at –home exercise called on Tuesday by agitators, leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, stormed Enugu on Wednesday, May 31. Kanu held a closed door meeting with some Southeast leaders under the auspices of the Ala Igbo Development Foundation (ADF).
The meeting is said to have lasted for over two hours. The Guardian reports that the meeting was chaired by the president of the ADF, Prof Uzodinma Nwala.
