The wedding ceremony of former President Ibrahim Babangida’s daughter Halima took place in Minna, Niger state on Friday, May 12, 2017.
Voice of Ndigbo was earlier informed that Halima’s wedding to Alhaji Auwal Lawal Abdullahi from Gombe state would be attracting about 4,000 policemen and 135 Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) who will be tasked with providing security during the wedding Fathia as a result of the high powered guests that would be attending the wedding.
Abdullahi gave 10 cows and N500, 000 as dowry for his bride.
Twenty six private jets and four police and air force aircraft ferrying the guests landed in Minna for the wedding PM News reported.
Former President Goodluck Jonathan and his wife Patience, Senate President Bukola Saraki and former vice president Namadi Sambo were at the wedding. Other distinguished guests included Governors Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna, Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto, Abdulaziz Yari of Zamfara, Ahmed Abdulfatah of Kwara and Abdullahi Ganduje of Kano.
Billionaire businessmen Aliko Dangote and Tony Elemulu, as well as minister of Interior Abdulrahman Danbazzau and Defence minister Mansur Dan-Ali as well as minister of state for Solid Mineral Development Abubakar Bwari.
