According to Lere Olayinka, Fayose’s aide on new media, the governor is presently seated inside Federal High Court 4 as the leader of the secessionist group Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) appears before Justice Nyako.

This is the first time that Fayose is openly showing support for the movement for the break away of the the Southeast from the Nigerian union as desired by pro-Biafra supporters.

The governor’s action comes just hours after Deji Adeyanju, a Peoples Democratic Party apologist from central Nigeria but with southwestern origins was arrested by police after staging a pro-Biafra protest.

VON recalls that Adeyanju, a popular critic of President Muhammadu Buhari’s government, was released after about 6 hours in police detention on Monday, April 24.

The Nigeria police had only just released Adeyanju who was arrested on Friday, April 21 for staging a protest against the secret trial of Nnamdi Kanu on Thursday, April 20.
