Chelsea travelled to Old Trafford to face the Special One who left Henrikh Mhkitaryan, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Anthony Martial on the bench.
Chelsea were also missing the injured pair of Thibait Courtios and Marcos Alonso and lost 2 – 0 to the Red Devils, VON report.
United started the game with more aggression and Chelsea looked deviod of ideas as Fellaini, Herrera and Pogba dominated Chelsea’s Nemanja Matic and N’Golo Kante in the middle of the park.
United opened the scoring in the 7th minute when Ander Herrera picked up a lose pass in the center of the park, drove towards goal unmarked and fed Marcus Rashford who swept past Asmir Begovic in goal.
Herrera doubled the lead five minutes after half time, picking up a wasted pass by Kante to curl a shot from the left which Begovic could do nothing about.
That was how the game remained despite the best efforts of substitute Cesc Fabregas to help Chelsea get a goal.
Earlier in the day, Roberto Firmino scored the only goal of the game as Liverpool defeated West Brow 1 – 0 at the Hawthorns.
United remain in fifth place while Chelsea see their lead at the top of the table cut to four points.
