Not less than 4000 supporters of the administration of Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu state, yesterday, converged at the Michael Okpara square Enugu where they unfolded plans of how they have decided to earn livings outside political activities.
The group, Governor Ugwuanyi’s Progressives Movement, GUPM, drawn from 472 communities in the state said they are already forming into cooperative societies to derive wealth creation amongst themselves.

State coordinator of the group, Princess Edith Ugwuanyi said GUPM is for sensitization, motivation and mobilization of all our communities in the state.
Princess Ugwuanyi also said it’s a means of educating our people that there is life after party-politics. “What I mean is that, party is not the only way of survival. The men, women, and youth at GUPM are willing, and ready to learn other means of survival.
“We the members of GUPM are forming real cooperative societies in every community in Enugu State forth with. This will keep us busy, happy, and even more eager to serve when we are called upon,” said Princes Ugwuanyi.
The group however demanded for support from the state government, noting that they comprise of self-motivated grassroots members; cut across all communities who have decided to come together to be part of the goal-actualization and good governance of Governor Ugwuanyi has set in motion in the past 23 months.
The group said they are tired of complaining of use and dump after elections and have decided to come together to help government in creating jobs for themselves with expected little support from the state government.
“GUPM is not formed that money will be shared, or with false promises of political positions, or great jobs; rather, GUPM is formed as a way to show solidarity to our amiable Governor, The great achiever of our time, who has done more in 23 months than those who had 8 years considering the current economic situation in Nigeria.
“We at GUPM therefore plead with the good people of Enugu State, and PDP to follow our leader-Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi; a leader who has not given us room to fall out, but to remain firmly. Members of GUPM are well-equipped with all kinds of arsenals, ready for 2019,” said Princess Ugwuanyi.
